I
My Morning Beauty Routine in 11 Steps
I am going to tell you what I do almost every morning.
I´ve always been a make up and cosmetics freak and, even if I am much more relaxed now, there are rituals that I´m still doing.
All the products I use are vegan and cruelty free because I don´t want to contribute to the suffering of innocent beings for vanity (nor for any other reason, indeed). ¿The best part? Mi hair still shines, my skin is as soft as it used to be but my Karma level is OK now.
I
The first thing I do is washing my hair. Even if sounds like a tv spot from the 90´s, since I discovered Lush solid shampoos I don´t use anything else. Godiva is very moisturing, creates a lot of foam and my hair smells like Jasmine for hours.
These shampoos are really cool and they don´t have any packaging. I am trying to generate less plastic waste.
II
I leave the shampoo in my hair while I wash my body with this wonderful soap full of good vibes. It contains essential oils such as eucalyptus, lemongrass and pippermint. It feels super energetic on my skin and I am obsessed. I use it with a glove made of coton and jute.
III
Now it´s time for the conditioner. The truth is that it was kind of difficult finding a vegan conditioner that worked for me. I have dry hair and I tried many but they were not moisturizing enough. I found this one in Müller (Mallorca) and I like it very much because it nourish your hair but it is not greasy at all.
IV
With the conditioner on, I wash my hair with this gel. It is pretty basic but since I use it my skin is less oily.
V
I get out of the shower and I brush my teeth. The flavor and texture of this toothpaste remind me of the ones I used when I was a child. ¿The best part? Since I´m not brushing my teeth with animal fat my mouth feels much more fresh and clean.
VI
I used an electric brush for a year and a half. I am kind of lazy but I thought that not only generates a lot of plastic waste but it requires electric energy so I decided to try a bamboo one. I like the wood sensation in my mouth and the fact that it is super silent.
VII
For me, moisturizing my body is super boring but if I don´t do it my legs are so dry that hurt. This cream is like the classic Nivea but in a cruelty free version.
VIII
I found this deodorant in LA and it is awesome. Its texture it is like a hard cream that hast to be applied in the armpits with a little spatula. It is not super quick method but it is worth it since it 100% natural, toxic free and it smells so good that I don´t wear perfume.
IX
Now it is face time. I´ve been using this serum for a month and I am happy with it. I use it directly on my skin focusing in the driest areas. At the beginning one would say it is oily but when absorbed the skin feels like you are wearing primer.
X
After the serum comes the cream. What I do is switching between this one (which is super nourishing and not suitable for oily skin) and another one which is super light and has a water base.
X. bis
So, every other day I use this gel cream that has such a watery feeling.
XI
Since I tend to have dark spots and I live in the sunny Marrakech, when I go out I always wear this sunscreen. If you use the right amount, it doesn´t leave white marks on your skin and I think it really does its job.
